SUPER CMIT
SUPER CMIT
Product News

SuperCMIT - The SuperCMIT defines a new category of shotgun microphone, with directivity that goes beyond anything previously known. It offers the recording engineer entirely new possibilities.

Where would I use the SuperCMIT?
The SuperCMIT can be a problem-solver wherever diffuse sources of noise (such as street noise, wind noise, room sound, or audience and passers-by) might interfere with a recording. Unwanted noise is reduced up to 15 dB – even at low frequencies – without altering the tone quality of front-arriving direct sound. Even a shotgun with a long tube can't do that. This makes the SuperCMIT ideal for complex film sound applications and for sports events. The SuperCMIT also increases the "reach" of indoor recordings.
How do I use the SuperCMIT?
The SuperCMIT is a digital microphone that operates according to AES42 Mode 1. It must be driven by an AES42 input with a sample rate converter. With the use of the optionally available Schoeps PSD 2U powering adapter, it can also be connected to a normal AES3 or S/P-DIF input, either as master or with sampling rate conversion. AES42 inputs are already available in equipment from RME and Sound Devices. AES3 inputs with sampling rate conversion have become standard items in good I/O systems.
The microphone is not remote-controllable. Three pushbuttons on the microphone set filters as well as two function presets.
The SuperCMIT will be available from May, 2010.
For price information please inquire beginning in April.

40 SuperCMIT shotgun microphones will be used for the world soccer championship in South Africa.
